Edible Salad Bowls

I saw this cute cucumber salad bowl at The Party Dress:

Which reminded me of a parmesan cheese bowl I saw on Good Eats that you make by grating the cheese onto a piece of parchment paper and then baking it, then, when it comes out of the oven, putting it over a glass to form it into a bowl before it cools.  It looks like this:

and tastes super yummy!  You can read more about it at Dianasaur Dishes or use Alton Brown's recipe.

At while I am at it, who can pass up a bacon bowl:

You can see the how to for this on Not Martha.

Wow, the food bowls look so fancy! I find salads to be so much work to make. There are just so many ingredients to chop up (lazy much?). So I'll probably never make a food bowl myself, but I would really enjoy one made by someone else!

YUMMY! I love this. What a fun way to present healthy food to kids too. My kids love bacon so if the lettuce is in a bowl of bacon maybe they will at least lick the lettuce because the bacon touched it. :)

No way! I love Alton's idea, but then you had to introduce me to a bacon bowl?! That might actually get my son to eat a salad!

I remember the bacon bowl from Not Martha! Naturally, that's my favorite, with the parmesan one second. The cuke one is pretty and classy, but doesn't have any fat in it...what kinda food is that?! ;D
