Storing Extension Cords

I really need to post this AFTER Christmas when we are putting away all of the extension cords we use for our Christmas decorations, but I will be dealing with packers and movers and I am 100% sure I won't remember. So you get this nifty little trick from Martha now:

If you wrap up your extension cords and then store them in pipe insulation they will store away nicely without getting all tangled up! I wish she had an idea for keeping my Christmas lights from getting tangled!

great idea. I wrap my lights in a circle with the part of the cord I need to start with, at the end, so I can easily unwrap them the next year and haven't ever had a problem with them. I decorate at least 5 trees every year. Hope that helps.

To store the lights cut slits in the ends of an empty wrapping paper roll. Put one end of the lights through the slit then wrap the lights around the roll and tuck the other end in the slit at the other end! :)

Hmm, I more like the idea of wrapping the cord AROUND (longwise) the insulation pipe...getting it tucked nicely in that little space might be challenging.

I use the cardboard tubes from paper towels to store my extension cords. It's very effective, and I already have them on hand...
