This year we will have Thanksgiving with both my family and my husbands family, like we have done every year since we have been married. Next year we will live 1000 miles away. And since we will probably want to come home for Christmas, we will be celebrating Thanksgiving on our own. I could list 1,000 reasons why I am not ready to do that, but one of them is I don't have any place mats. Okay, that is probably the most insignificant reason, but it is the truth!
These cute place mats from
Parents.com are made out of muslin (cut with pinking sheers), some yarn, and then stamped with fun Fall colors:
They are perfect for the kiddie table, but I think they could easily be adult-
ified! And I can SO do this!
And I think they would make some pretty cute place mats as well.
Good thing I have a year to decide!

Those placemats are adorable...how cute would they be stamped with the kids' thumbprints? I think I see these in our future! Thanks so much for checking out my blog, it's great that you stopped by!
Those are both so cute! Thanks for sharing! :)
Have a great day!

cuuute idea. I love those place mats!
Those are both really cute! I am going to make little bottle cap pin cushions as place holders this year! I'm excited!
if i had to be responsible for Thanksgiving dinner everyone would starve and to be honest, i wouldn't feel bad about it... :-)
Both of those ideas are SOO cute! If I had more time, we'd try something like those... But oh well... My MIL has a TON of placemats to choose from, so we're never running low on those...
I love these! I think I'll have to make some of these!
Oooh I do like those. I wonder how washable they are?
Very cute!

Hi, I'm stopping by from SITS. I currently live 500 miles away from my family but next year I will live ridiculously far from them so it seems we have something in common!
love that you've imbued this post with your personal story...I like the placemats you posted, but I love your story.
