Peachy Fruit Leather

Every Fall my grandmother would get out her dehydrator and we could cut up apples and bananas and all sorts of yummy fruit to dry out. They were all yummy snacks and I have really good memories of making and eating them with my grandparents.

But my favorite thing that we used to make was fruit leather. Having your grandma make you a homemade fruit roll-up was the best!!

Today I found this recipe for Peachy Fruit Leather at Berlin's Whimsy. Well, actually the recipe is from Berlin's Whimsy, I found it on The Crafty Crow...but it made me realize that I have never made fruit leather with my kids. I am going to have to put it on my list of things to do this Fall.

You can check out her recipe here, or if you have one of your own, I would love to have it!

Hi Lorie,
I love fruit leather, will try the recipe with my (almost grown!)girls - we love trying out new recipes.
I can't believe you e-mailed me in response to my comment - how will you ever get to all 47,000 of your fans? What a trooper!
I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you, can't wait to here the news.

I love making apple fruit leather in the fall. I don't have a recipe, just peel, core, and chop the apples then cook over medium heat adding a little water, sugar, and cinnamon to taste. When it turns into applesauce, remove from the heat. I use the same procedure as Berlin's whimsy for the drying process. YUM!

Yum, I have a fruit dehydrator and I can't seem to get anything to come out right. I gave up on it and it's in the closet under the stairs. maybe I'll have to take it out and try this.
