Disney Replacement Program

I swear I have blogged about this before, but I couldn't find it. So I am going to tell you about it again. Because everyone that has kids (or not) and owns a Disney movie (DVD or Blue Ray) should know about this.

If you have a DVD or Blu-Ray that becomes damaged (like my Aladdin DVD that some how broke in half. No lie) You can sent it to Disney and they will replace it for $6.95. So instead of forking out another $20 for a new movie, you mail in your old one and they will replace it.

You can check out the details here, but here is the info from their site:

If you accidentally damage or break one of your Disney DVDs, you can get a replacement disc for a nominal charge of $6.95.

Please mail in your damaged DVD (along with DVD case and full packaging), a Check or Money order for $6.95 (made payable to WDHE), along with the Disk Replacment Form to:
WDSHE Consumer Relations
Attn: Disc Replacement Program
PO Box 3100
Neenah WI 54957

So just in case you find one of your movies has mysteriously been damaged, or maybe not so mysteriously, just send it in and you will get a new one in the mail.

Hmmm well not only do we burn all our movies (so if they get broken we can replace them for 50 cents!) but we even if we DO buy anything (can't remember the last time I actually BOUGHT a DVD?) we take it immediately out of the packaging and put it into our binders because we have almost 1000 movies. No joke.

But, hmm, good for Disney. =)

I was so excited to see this, but then I read the part about needing the case and packaging. We keep our dvd's in a binder, too. Cases are gone the first day - years ago for many of my now-scratched movies. :(

Thank you for sharing this ifo, though :)

Amie and Lisa. I do the same thing and have never had a problem. They just have me ship it in another DVD case. I keep some extras around for when we lend out or DVDs. And I have used a CD case once too.

Thank you! I was just thinking about this and the fact that I need to do this with just about all our Disney movies!
