Book Headboard

I am not sure how I feel about this headboard made out of books from Instructables:

I love the color, but the thought of cutting pages out of a book makes me nervous...like a librarian is going to catch me!

What do you think?

That takes on a new meaning of bed time stories :)

It's creative, but just not for me. I'm currently trying to find a headboard. I want a shutter headboard but I'm not having any luck finding shutters. I guess it's not a rush. At least we have a bed!

honestly I don't really like it, however, I really like the quilt!

It seems like it would be fun if they were a bunch of books you got from an estate sale or something...they all look spray painted. I think it's something my 5 year old would love to have and do!

Lol, I feel the same way! I've bought several vintage children's books for crafting purposes, but just can't bring myself to use them! I've cut into just one book, and it was a newer book with great old illustrations - but it just felt.so.wrong. Ugh! The bed itself looks really cool, though!

I think I would prefer it not painted in those colors, with the cover work still visible.

If you have vintage books and you want to use the pages for scrapping or crafting, you can make color photocopies inexpensively and use them. I did that with a great old book about America. The book is intact and I have really cute decorations for my room.
