I found these Paperback Vases by Sweet Paul:
And thought I would post them because they remind me of these:
I love what people do with old paperback books. The jack-o-lanterns are still my favorite.
So here is another craft with something that you can repurpose! If you don't have any paperback books of your own, go rescue some from a garage sale.
Happy Earth Day!

Oh that is so cool! What a great idea!
That is too cool!
As cool as that is, I'm a)a pack rat and b) a book nut. I'd have such a hard time doing that to any book. Someone might want to read it :)
I have never seen any of those before. I love them!
candiacrew, just go buy one at a yardsale that you would NEVER want to read! ;D
When I did my jack-o-lanterns I used an old autobiography of a baseball player that my husband had two copies of and some old text books.
I love the jack o lanterns and the apple very clever.
Wow! I. LOVE. YOUR. BLOG!
I found it from a link on refugeecrafter.com and I am hooked! Thanks for all the wonderful ideas!
Beautiful!
You find and come up with the best ideas! Perhaps I should outsource my home to you for decorating!
Great idea! I've never seen these before either! I have a few old paperbacks that even the used bookstore won't take...I'll use those to make one for Bry's teacher for teacher appreciation week! (But I will make it into a red apple!)
Thanks for the great idea!
We used to use Reader's Digest to make Christmas trees. You fold all the top corners to the inside, which gives it more fullness than just cutting off. Then you fold the bottom corners in about an inch or two so it will stand up but look like it has a trunk. A little spray paint, (gold, silver, dark green are pretty) and you can drape it with whatever you want to doll it up.
I love it! I want a fat book so I can leave a tube down the middle and stick a fake flower in it. Or a real flower if I can find a skinny beaker.
