In all of my apron making experience (I have made one) I can say that the ties are the hardest part. This apron from
Martha Stewart not only solves that problem by replacing the ties with cotton twill tape like this:

which makes it cute like this:

but also makes it easy to slip on and off. You slide it over your head and then pull it tight as you tie. Kinda cool. I think I am going to take the ties off of the one apron I have made and replace it with cotton twill tape.

this is such a great idea. i've only attempted to make a half apron, but the ties were the hardest part. i might see how one would do with this technique. thanks for sharing!
Hahaha...ties are DEFINITELY the hardest part. I might have to try this!
That's how the Pampered Chef aprons work. I love them.
We have a kids Pampered Chef apron and it works like that. Except the strap is inside a pocket seam.
Thanks for an easy solution to an existing apron. Our painting aprons are terrible. I'll try this on them.
I always like the idea of an apron, but I always forget to put one on!
Oh! Pampered Chef is smart!!
That just ROCKS!
Thank you for sharing!
What a great idea!!I wish I could do something similar for mother's day!
I have a couple adjustable aprons I picked up from IKEA and love them. I tried to recreate it but had problems with the part that martha resolved w/ the twill loops. Thanks for posting b/c I need more full aprons. The cafe aprons are useless for me b/c I spill stuff on my shirt!
