What Would You Do?

If someone gave you two thousand dollars but told you you couldn't do anything rational with it, what would you do?

You can't pay off debt or invest it or spend it on anyone else. You can't donate it or buy groceries. Nothing that is a need.

What totally irrational thing would you do?

Do you want to know what I would buy? I would buy this:

and this:

and this:

and have a party with cotton candy (that is what the first picture is by the way, a cotton candy machine) and popcorn and snow cones. Is that crazy? It is so a weird dream of mine to own all three. And real life industrial circus quality. Not the snow cone makers you can buy at Target...although that might have to do until some stranger gives me $2000.

I would take a trip.

Though I do love your ideas. Can I have some cotton candy if you get one?

Joanne

You can have all the cotton candy you can eat! In every color!

And there is going to be a serious selection of snow cone flavors! Watermelon and Banana for sure.

Fun question. I'd head for Disneyland or maybe a cruise. Or maybe liposuction!!

Lorie said...

I will probably need liposuction after having a cotton candy/snow cone/popcorn fest!

Love your choices. I'm thinkin' I'm a bit weird, because I'd buy new carpet for my house, or part of it at least. How boring is that?

It depends on what day you would ask me...Like after hearing the story I heard from a patient at work. I would donate the money to him and his little girl.. Now if I wouldn't have heard such a depressing story, I would have the same idea's as you...I love snow cone and cotton candy!!! Just so yummy... I think I'm still a kid at heart, because when I see those 2 things some where, I just have to have them...

OOh I love your spending idea-- that is really up my alley. Mine would be something along the lines of a full out soda shop-- I already own sundae glasses, but soon I'll get my hands on banana split glasses and other little goodies to go along with.

I also would take a trip, Vegas to be exact, I don't gamble, but I have never been. Flights from my area have been $49 on way, I'd get a soso hotel and go walk around. I would so love to go there. Where are the philanthropists when you need them???

I think my husband and I would take a much-needed 2nd honeymoon - and pay off grandma to watch the kids while we're gone with the rest!

Let's see...if I could ONLY spend it on ME I would walk into Tiffany & Co. and pick out something fabulous. And wear it as a reminder to live in the moment.

If I was feeling a little more generous, I would book two flights to Venice for my honey & me.

Great question and I'd like some popcorn please...with butter if you have it. LOL

I would have a big party for the children who I tutor at the family shelter with cotton candy, snowcones and a bouncey house.

Lorie said...

Okay, a lot of you posted things that are way to rational. I think you must post again! ;D

No new carpet allowed! And no new clothes unless they are ridiculously expensive clothes!

Now the slurpee machine, thee dress made out of $5 bills and the soda shop, that is what I am talking about!

Actually, thank you guys for sharing! It was really fun to have 26 comments on this post! Now if only I had $52,000 I could give all of us $2000. Maybe Oprah will read this and take pity on us.

Oprah!! Are you there?

I'd definitely take a trip--and get some new clothes, and it would have to include a trip up in a hot air balloon.

Love your blog! Lynn
