Topsy Turvy Cake Tutorial

I have been looking for birthday cake ideas because The Boy is coming up on his 8th birthday.  While looking, I found a great tutorial for a Topsy Turvy Cake.. What is a Topsy Turvy Cake? It looks like this:

But that one is from The Pink Cake Box, so mine wouldn't be quite that cute.  And The Boy wouldn't want one anyways, but I might be able to talk Lou La into it!!

Now if you are interested in how these little suckers are made, My Sweet and Saucy has a great picture tutorial on her blog.  With great pictures that make you go Ohhhhhh!  That is how they do it.  Like these two:

Oh!  That is how they do it!

A cake book I have shows how to do this using frosting instead of slanting the cakes. I will have to try both methods! Planning a Dr. Seuss themed cake and think the topsy turvy style is the way to go!
