Etched Glass

I have been catching up on my Martha lately and found this tutorial on etching glass.

You use painters tape, vinyl stick on letters and etching cream! It sounded so fun that I thought I would find what else you could do with etching cream.

Like these glasses:

even a fish tank:

I think the design they used on the fish tank would be really cute on a mirror!

I think I have found something new to try! But just a warning: DO NOT wash the etching cream off in your sink unless you have a stainless steal sink. The etching cream damages glazed surfaces like porcelain sinks!

ooh...this was a really popular Super Saturday activity back home - we would etch our names onto the bottoms of our Pyrex dishes so they wouldn't get lost at potlucks!

I love etching, thanks for more cute ideas. We etched glass christmas ball ornaments with words like peace and joy as well as candle holders. Now I'm in a etching mood!

I don't know whether to say thank you or be mad that you've TOTALLY added another "wish" to my wishful to do list. LOL This looks awesome. Have you tried it? Where do we get the etching cream??

PS - Do you know you have your own little folder on my computer? Well, you do! LOL

That is great! I've been thinking I would love to buy some thrift store wine glasses, but didn't know what to do with them, this would be cool.
Thanks for the warning too, I would have washed it off in my sink!

I haven't etched since summer camp as a teenager, I loved it! I must get some of the products and try it again with the kids! :)

I've tried this but mine didn't turn out so well. the etching creme ran under the stickers and messed up the pattern. does anyone have any hints?
