One Big Valentine Cookie

BHG crushed up cinnamon candies (red hots) and used them to fill in spaces they cut out of cookie dough. When the cookie gets baked, the cinnamon candies melt and look like this:

Now this is a huge 8x10 cookie, but I think cutting smaller hearts out of heart shaped cookies and doing the same trick would be super cute for Valentine's Day.

It reminds me of these Christmas cookies.

This would also be a great idea for pancakes!

Stesha! That is brilliant idea. I wonder if they would get hot enough to melt while cooking the pancakes or if you would have to melt the candies and then poor it in.

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm...

We're allowed to make food to hand out on Valentine's Day (I'm amazed because it's totally illegal in most states) and I'm thinking these might be perfect for my kids to make for their classmates (but not the 8x10 size.)

Jennie, it is against the rules here, but we have a family party where we take treats, so I can use them there!

I am jealous that you can make treats for your school!
