Christmas Decorating With Stuff You Have

I don't know about you, but after wrapping I always have pieces of wrapping paper that are too small for any of my presents. So find some little boxes, wrap them with your scraps and add them to a bowl or urn for a new holiday decorations. I love this idea, but my kids are at the age where they may realize that Santa and I have the same wrapping paper...

Cheese cloth wrapped around white Christmas lights. I actually have cheese cloth left from the cheesecloth ghosts I made at Halloween. Maybe not enough to make a swag THIS long...but I have smaller windows!

So in the imaginary apothecary jars that I still haven't broken down to buy myself, but Santa will hopefully bring me, I think I would put red and white candy! (or jingle bells. or ornaments, the big christmas lights...I need jars!!!)

And I love this idea because when I unpack my fake Christmas foliage there is always some left in the bottom of the box that I toss. Not anymore! Velvet and Holly or Satin and sleighbells. Anything you have left over can be made into a great doorknob decoration! Leave no space undecorated! (okay, maybe that is a LITTLE overboard...but the doorknobs would still be cute!!)

And in place of a wreath, stick some family photos in some greenery or sprigs of branches and
berries. I like being able to incorporate photos! I have about a zillion of them!

Love this idea - I don't know if you have Big Lots where you live BUT, I was dragged there the other day and they actually have great prices on toys. My boys are really into trucks and they have tons there. Ok, I'm off the subject - my point is they had an ENTIRE SET of 3 apothocary jars for 20 bucks! Small, medium and large and they were super cute.

I love these ideas! So cute! The doorknob idea is great, I'll have to try that with my extra ribbon.

I love your ideas, especially the cheese cloth and white lights. White lights and anything are what I love! I am always trying to move things around and make things out of other things. I have too much stuff to go buy anymore, so I just recreate! Carol

My family has used coloured tulle wrapped around lights for so many different occasions (even weddings!). Easy and beautiful.

My mom always kept a separate stash of wrapping paper for the gifts from 'Santa' ;)
