I have toyed with the idea of putting a faux fence in their room before. They have this amazing doll house bookshelf that their great grandpa made them. It is almost identical to this one from Pottery Barn Kids, but even better!
I have been wanting to redo their room in a 'house' theme using the large bookshelf as the inspiration. And when I found the picture of the picket fence headboards at Southern Hospitality I knew it would work perfectly. And I think I could actually make these myself! It will definitely have to wait until after the holidays, but then I might just give it a shot.

If I had a cute picket fence headboard when I was a kid I would have probably grown up to be a lot more successful than I am right now. Get to it!
I saw how to make them on one of the DIY shows but its been a while but it might still be on their site. I wish I could remember which show....sorry

I too dream of having a home one day complete with a white picket fence. We're nearing the time to purchase our oldest dd another bed, and I was definitely think the white picket fence headboard too, very cute!
Love the doll house bookshelf. Sure wish I knew someone crafty like that.
i just used pop up glue dots they are made for scrapbooking but they did the trick and its strong enough to hold

My husbands grandfather made the most amazing things for my kids. I will have to post the birdhouse coat rack he made for the boy!

I have always loved the picket fence headboards. I think it would be beautiful in a little girls room.
Oh I love the picket fence headboards. Last year my DH made barbie houses similar to the book shelf for our 2 youngest daughters. I had so much fun wallpapering and decorating them. Thank you for coming to my blog. I am going to read more on yours. Hugs, Bobbi Jo

MY DAD AND I made the same doll house bookshelf house, he had made me one as a child and i made him make one with me for my girls...
the picket fence head boards are supper cute, and wouldn't be too hard to do..
Those are gorgeous, and I'd sell one of my kids for a grandpa that made those houses :-)
