I Can Make That

Chris is having a blog party. People are linking all of the fun things that you can make for Christmas gifts. I didn't find out about the party until today (I am a little behind on my blog reading) but I am ALWAYS up for a party. So I dug through some old posts to find something that would be gift worthy.

I have 4 nieces (not to mention my girls) that are the perfect dress up age. But they already have all of the basic dress up clothes (read as they have all of the Disney Princess costumes).

But it is always fun (and cheaper) to make some new additions to their dress up collection.

Like tuts:

This isn't the best picture, but they are SO cute and very easy. Cut a piece of elastic (or you can use ribbon) to the size of the waist plus enough to tie (I like to leave about 8 inches so I can make a bow).

Then figure out the approximate length you want the tutu. Double it and add an inch. So if you want the tutu to be about a 10 inches long, you need to cut the tulle to be 21 inches long. Then tie it around the ribbon/elastic. Repeat until you have filled the Easy as can be. I added ribbon in between some of the tulle too.

You can do it all one color, different shades of the same color, or different colors. They are cute no matter what. They take about an hour, but you can sit and tie tulle while you are watching your favorite TV show!

Now for the shoes:

I hot glued flowers and buttons on to these.

I used decoupage for the glitter (under and over to seal it) and added a charm with hot glue.

These ones took the longest, but they are my favorite. You just double knot ribbon.

And these are just bows I made from Ribbon
(That ribbon actually came from the handles of a Gap bag! Talk about recycling!)
and hot glued them on!

They also make a great gift for birthdays! We had 5 friend birthday parties last month alone! I need to remember my own idea next time we are invited to a slew of birthday bashes!

Well, those are just the cutest things ever! I always see where people tie 500 ribbons to the flip flops and I don't like those, but these are adorable and I will totally be tackling this project!
