Today we got a call that an elderly man from our church passed away last night. He has been having health problems for a while, so his passing was no surprise, but tonight I am a little sad.
Each Sunday he would walk around the pews and shake hands with all of the kids and their parents. As he shook your hand he would slip you a piece of candy. He could not hear well, so there was never a word spoken. But when you saw him walk in you always knew he would be around to shake your hand.
He was kind and sweet and I will miss him. But I know he is in heaven shaking the hands of little children and slipping them a piece of candy.

Oh, that makes me sad. When we actually showed up on time, Carson would get so excited to see him. He was a sweet sweet man.
