6 Fun Summer Lunches for Kids

Angry Birds Lunch from Creative Foods

I don't know about you, but my kids are already bored of lunche time here at our house.  There are a ton of fun food ideas that we don't get to take advantage of during the school year, because they just wouldn't hold up in a lunch box, so I thought I would share some with you.  You can make them, like this angry birds lunch from Creative Food, for your kids or if your kids are older you can let them construct these edible crafts themselves.

If you wan't to start out with something simple to tackle, I love this snail sandwich from Meet the Dubiens.

If you have boys in your house, they will love this pirate lunch from Kitchen Fun With My 3 Sons.  Of course, it might result in pirate sword fighting at the table.

These tuna salad boats from Family Fun are a fun way to sneak in some extra veggies into your kids lunch.

Your little lady bug would love this bug sandwich from Cute Food For Kids.

And everyone will enjoy constructing a house sandwich like this one from LIttle Nummies.

These are adorable, Lorie! What a great idea to make kids' food fun as well as yummy and nutritious.

When my boys were small (and we were on a VERY limited budget!), I used to cut slices of cheese with cookie cutters. Their favorites were the vehicles and the cowboy shapes. After they ate the cut-out shape, they'd ask for the "puzzle"--the border of cheese from around the shape. No waste, and a nice high-protein snack. :)
