One of our favorite family traditions each year is the big gingerbread house decorating party we have at my in laws. I have to admit though, we always use store bought gingerbread kids. One of these years we are going to have to make them and if you want to make your own gingerbread house from scratch, why not make a few extra and give them out as gifts to your neighbors. Sara, it is SO fun! We assign everyone items to bring and then you can bring any extra items you want to keep just for you! ;D It gets pretty competitive with the adults. We have had all sorts of interesting additions to houses. I think my favorite was still the year my brother in law added an outhouse to his gingerbread house.
