Chocolate Banana Bread from Picky Palate

My family is so fickle about bananas.  From the time I bring the green bananas home from the store to the time they are brown, there is literally a window of one day where they will eat them.

I blame their father.

If we catch the day, they will eat them until they are gone.  If we miss the day I am left with half a dozen bananas to consume myself or, usually, freeze for smoothies.  Now that it is summer, there will be some banana ice cream in our future, but also on the must make list this summer is chocolate banana bread.  And if the kids are lucky, I might share it with them.
