One of the things I miss the most about living by my family around the holidays are the multiple candy making sessions.  My mom always makes penut clusters and peanut brittle.  My sisters make chocolate dipped pretzels, fudge, bark, and any other holiday confections you can wrap your mind around.  And my oldest sister did all of the dishes.

I might miss the dish washing part the most.

I know I should just carry on the tradition here with friends and I think next year I will, but this year I am still in the missing being at home stage.  But next year when I decide to brave candy making without my sisters I will be adding a new candy to the mix.  I will be trying to create these maple walnut chocolates that Dana shared on her blog.  Heck, she only lives about 15 minutes from me so maybe I will invite her over to show me how to make them with the promise that I will do all the dishes.
