Dreyer's Shakes and Smoothies Review and Giveaway

When you were a kid, did you ever wish you could have a job where someone paid you to eat ice cream?  That is exactly what this review felt like.  Sort of a little kid and big kid dream come true.

We headed to the store to pick up some Dreyer's Shakes and Smoothies (You may know them as Edy's Shakes and Smoothies):

  

And of course that meant we ended up with one of each flavor.

They currently offer four flavors of each.  Chocolate, Vanilla, Strawberry, and Cookies 'n Cream for the shakes, Strawberry Banana, Mixed Berry, Sunrise Blend, and Tropical for the smoothies.

After we got home we brought out the milk and spoons and got to work.  First up were the milk shakes.  You take off the top, pour in the milk, and stir.  It really is as easy as that.  My three year old daughter made her own.  When the stirring was done we each tried all four flavors.  It was our unanimous decision that the Chocolate was the best.  From there the opinions split between Vanilla and Cookies 'n Cream depending on who you asked.  They were just as tasty as their Dreyer's Slow Churned counterparts and it was fun to have a milkshake that didn't require me to wash my blender.

Next up were the smoothies.  Same routine.  Lid off, milk in, stir.  We make smoothies for breakfast pretty often, but we don't typically use pineapple, mango, and passion fruit.  I think that is why the Tropical Smoothie was my favorite.  The kids all loved the smoothies that included banana, Sunrise Blend and Strawberry Banana.

The kids loved making them as much as eating them and if you like Dreyer's slow churned ice cream you will love these shakes.  I was a little disappointed that my favorite Mint Chocolate Chip was excluded from the available flavors.
