This year Valentine's Day didn't go as planned. There were lots of fun projects in the works, but they were replaced with trips to the doctor's office and multiple runs to the pharmacy. So Friday, when my son finally returned to school after two weeks, it was time to get down to the nitty gritty. Each of my kids had to make a 'box' for their valentines.
I helped Lou La construct a house out of a shoebox and a chipboard roof. She decorated her Love Shack with cardstock and a little help from my Silhouette. We put it to work cutting out lots of hearts and those perfect valentine windows.
In 4th grade there is only one rule for the boxes. They have to fit through the classroom door. Again, we had big plans, but once Saturday rolled around I knew we had to go for something a little easier.
Here is our heart air balloon.
The basket was made out of a gift bag and with the help of two dozen heart shaped balloons that were on sale at Party City, it took flight.
Neither of our boxes were what we had originally planned, but they both took about 1/100th of the time and I love how they both came out!
