Today I made Christmas Wreath Cookies with 6 preschoolers. They are basically the same thing as a rice krispie treat, but you switch out the rice cereal for corn flakes and you add some green food coloring.
Then you shape them into wreaths and let the kids decorate them with redhots:
You can also make Holly or Christmas trees the same way:
They aren't as good as Rice Krispie treats (at least in my opinion) but they are pretty cute and the kids had a fun time making them.
What you need:
One bag of large marshmallows (about 35)
1/2 cup of butter
1 tsp. green food coloring
4-5 cups of corn flakes
cinnamon (Red Hot) candies
What you do:
Melt marshmallows and butter in the microwave, stir in green food coloring and then add the cereal. You can use a muffin tin to shape them into wreaths (just make sure you spray it with nonstick spray first). Then decorate with the cinnamon candies.

Fun times with the kiddos~ A great festive recipe........
We used to make these when we were kids and I've never seen anyone else make them. I'm sure they'll be popping up all over the place now!
I used to make these and have totally forgotten about them. They are so cute and festive -- thanks for the reminder!
oh man i forgot about these things. i freaking love them!
I so need to make these with my kiddos! Thanks for the recipe.
Next time, make them with Golden Grahams and add some mini chocolate chips. Taste like s'mores!
You can also use Frosted Flakes instead of Corn Flakes - it will give it a little sweeter taste.
These are a Christmas staple in our home! Love 'em!
