Sweater Lampshades
Jan at Poppytalk posted about the knit sweater lampshades from Feb Country Living Magazine. I was about to go out and buy a copy of the magazine when I found it on Sweet Paul's blog:

I think I feel the same way you do, I like it and then I'm not so sure... I think it's that particular shade that might be thowing us off. Just think how cute a nice little knit lampshade by your bedside would be. I'm intrigued, I think I may have to give it a whirl! Thanks for all your great posts. You keep me inspired!
I don't really like this one. But I want to try and make one I do like! I'll be keeping my eyes open for a more appealing (for me) sweater at my local thrift joints.
not sure what i think about it...i do think it would get really dusty reallly quickly...by the way, are your posts going up in central, or whatever your old time zone was?
When I read the title sweater lampshade I thought "yuck, I'm not going to like that!" But it's super cute!!! I like the sweater covered bottle in the background too.
I think if you put it on a barrel-shaped shade, it would be altogether different -- and better. Just from the title, I got the idea of stretching some of my son's baby sweaters (that I just can't part with) over a small lampshade on an accent lamp in a family room or bedroom or something. Or course, you'd have to hack it up a bit and seal the seams first. . . back to not being sure I could do that.

As a knitter, I think it's genius! Not sure how I like it as a lamp shade though. Maybe if it was a little more subtle. Cute though!

I think it would look okay w/ winter decor but it's clash come summer.

I'm thinking sweaters don't belong on lampshades! Not really a fan of this one! And I agree - what in the heck is "Anonymous" talking about? LOL!
There've been a lot of spam like that Anonymous one up there lately. Very annoying, but at least it's harmless, not having any links in it.
I think the lampshade is clever, but it's def not me. I think Meg could be right: maybe if it was a bit more subtle...

Cool idea, but it just screams dust magnet to me! Wouldn't a cute red sweater be cute on a side table lamp?
