That is a Twinkie. And you cut it at a slant and make a heart shape. Woman's Day used raspberries and raspberry jam, but I am thinking this would be a fun substitute for strawberry shortcake.
We are definitely going to be giving this a try this summer, since strawberries are one of my favorite parts of summer? What is your favorite summer treat?

Ooooh...I love strawberries, too. I like to make home-made ice cream...but I usually only do it once a year! Cookies and Cream is my forte!
Yum! I'm going to try that too, 'cause they don't have good round cakes here. There's no hostess for some reason.?

Yum! I made some really easy shortcakes once with Bisquick I think. I might have to try that Twinkie idea though. :) I love strawberries too!
Oh, that looks so YUMMY! Never thought of using Twinkies and besides, I haven't had them in so long... I'm going to have to get some this week!

Fav dessert for me would have to be pies, I made a red, white and blue pie once for the 4th and it was so simple and good! I'll post it soon!

I usually cheat and use the store bought sponge cake too, it's just too easy. :)

Om nom nom! We had shortcake for dessert too, but with biscuits and whipped cream. For some reason, it's easier for me to make up a batch of biscuits and whip some cream...than it is to do a grocery run :) Crazy, I know!
