Bakerella posted the Easter versions of her cake pops on her blog a few days ago. Although the bunnies and chicks were cute, these are my favorite:
But what I love the post is how she decorated these little puppies! It would be fun to let the kids decorate them (not expecting them to look anything like this) but I love the perfect lines of sprinkles. She used a paint brush and corn syrup. She painted the corn syrup on the cake pop with the brush (one line at a time) and then sprinkled it with the colored sugar. You do it over a bowl and shake of the excess, the same way you would with glitter and glue as a kid. Of course, you have to wait until the white chocolate you dipped the cake balls in dries!
I am thinking this technique will work for lots of things! Like personalizing sugar cookies, decorating brownies that don't have frosting. Fun Fun Fun!

I can certainly appreciate others who design and create beautiful treats like this, but I just don't have it in me. Baking and decorating, that is! :) I'm in awe.
Dee, cake pops are the EASIEST!! And I am not just saying that! You bake a cake and then you crumble it to bits! You dump in a can of cream cheese frosting and you mix it into a glob! They you form it into balls (in this case egg shapes) and dip them in candy melts (Wilton makes them, they are great colors and super easy to use)
Genius! Love all the Easter ideas you're providing.
Ooo.... I am so going to make these for Easter!!
Fun! I have made cake balls/ bites. They really are easy.
That said, I wonder how she gets them so perfectly smooth? Mine look a little more lumpy. You'd need to pack them into a mold to get them that perfectly shaped.
I love these pops. SO cute!
these are so adorable. and, i love the bluebird nests too! following your blog now. feel free to check out mine...

So cute! I still want to try those decoupage eggs (with the vintagey looking book pages) you had a while back. Maybe this weekend!
Cynthia, You don't need a mold, you just need really clean hands. Make sure to break up the cake REALLY well and when you add the frosting it should be almost gooey.
And DO NOT chill them! They come out much smoother when you dip them if they are room temperature.

Why do you think I post them! I figure I could lose weight or make everyone else in the world have a big bum.
This way is MUCH easier!
I saw your blog on twittermoms. WOW! I wish I could make these Easter Egg Pops! Hopefully, I'll have some time on Good Friday.
