Chinese Sticky Cake

There are two reasons I wanted to post about Sticky Cake (Well, three. It is fun to say and that is reason enough! Sticky Cake!) and none of them actually have anything to do with eating this cake. I have never tried it.

First, I learned an interesting fact from Red Cook about homonyms in the Chinese language. Sticky and Year are pronounced the same, so this is a New Year Cake or a Sticky Cake. If you don't think I am crazy for finding that interesting, you can read more about it here.

If on the other hand you think I am crazy for talking about Chinese homonyms, you can just check out the Red Cook for really amazing Chinese recipes. Because I KNOW you are all having Chinese food tomorrow. Right?

Have any of you ever had sticky cake?

Being somewhat legit, I have had many different kinds of sticky rice cake. I love the Japanese kinds the best, but have recipes for Korean ones too. If you like asian food, let me know and hook you up with some recipes.

I have been looking for a reason to have Chinese. I have been craving it for about a month. I do think the Chinese homonyms are interesting.

Being Chinese, I know I have, and yet, I can't remember the experience. The memory must have been stored on those brain cells I purged while giving birth.

Too funny. There are some words I like just because they are fun to say. That comment made me smile when I read this post. :)
