Cookie Swap: All In One Cookie
Martha has a recipe for the All In One Cookie. This dough can be used pretzel cookies, icebox cookies, jam-striped cookies, and drop cookies. Gotta love a versatile cookie recipe!!
What you need:
1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, room temperature
3/4 cup sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 large egg yolks
1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour (spooned and leveled)
What you do:
In a large bowl, beat butter, sugar, and salt until light and fluffy. Add yolks, one at a time, scraping the bowl after each addition. Add vanilla. With mixer on low, add flour; mix just until combined. Wrap in plastic; chill until firm. (about 1 hour)
It can be refrigerated for up to 2 weeks or stored in the freezer for up to 3 months!

Great idea here. That sounds like what I am looking for. You have such a great blog. So pretty and full of great ideas. I love the simple centerpiece and those snowflakes.
I wonder if I can use this in my cookie press? I have a recipe that just doesn't seem to work well with my press...its too sticky.
I have used this recipe and it ROCKS!!
Mary-
We use it in my mom's cookie press and it works like a dream!!
Jillene, thanks for the info about the cookie press. I was going to guess that it would work (since the dough can be shaped into pretzels and such) but am glad that you have used it successfully!
And thanks Jan! *blushing*
What kind of flavor does the cookie have? It seems like it would taste similar to a sugar cookie or maybe something less bland.
Sounds so easy! Maybe I'll try it with the kids. Thanks for visiting! :-)
Those look YUMMY! All of them!
I've been baking cookies for 2 days! I'm really excited for the cookie swap tomorrow.
