My name is Lorie and I have a problem.

I really like baking. I am moderately okay at it. Nothing magical. But I love it. And honestly, when you are 7 and 5 and 1 you don't really care if your mom is a great baker, you just care that you get to eat cookies and cupcakes and whatever else Mom decides she needs to bake! It works out well for us.

So that isn't really the problem.

The problem is that I have a tendency fall in love with totally useless baking things. Like these jars that Bakerella put on her blog:

Aren't they pretty. And I probably don't have enough different looking sprinkles to make them cute, so I would have to buy more of those too. I don't even really like eating sprinkles on the things that I bake.

But I am still using every ounce of restraint that I have to keep myself from buying these jars. It doesn't matter that I don't have a place in my kitchen for them. It doesn't matter that I have about a million other things I should be buying if I was going to throw money out the window.

But I want pretty sprinkle jars. And I need some type of meeting to keep me from buying them.

Ha! I thought for a minute I was reading my own blog! I saw her sprinkles and was very jealous. I would join your support group... to help me refrain from retail therapy!

I'm this way with anything French. A tacky Eiffel Tower paper weight? Check. A Vogue magazine in French? I'll pay lots of money for it.

We need to start a group!

OH MY GOSH! I totally have a "thing" for containers! I love those jars and the different color sprinkles inside are perfect! I have to have them! I was thinking that I could also use them to put different art supplies in for my son, so we wouldn't have to go through the big containers looking for what we need ! HHummmm! Hold me back... :)

I think I might have to start a weekly linky where we post things we want to buy that we don't need so that we can talk each other out of them!!

But they're so much cuter than my box of mish-mashed candies, colored sugars, and sprinkles I use for decorating. I would love these in my art studio to corral beads and cute little scrapbook bling. Glad to know I'll know more than one person at the meeting! :)

Those ARE really pretty! (Isn't it wrong that I could guzzle several of those? I have the worst sweet tooth!) I love organizing stuff like that, it makes me feel like I've accomplished something!

I think the jars are just the cutest. What's one more thing you don't need! I mean really, they won't take up too much space. Ok, I know I am not helping.

You are creative and have some great ideas! Thanks for stopping by my blog and introducing yourself. I have enjoyed meandering awhile on yours. As for your problem, a very wise sister-in-law gave me this advice ask yourself "can I live without it?" I myself have been in the same type of dilema and when I ask myself that question I usually decide I can live without it and move on. Good Luck

From one Lorie to another I think I need those to put spices in~ My husband asked me tonight why did I have so many spices and could I get rid of some so therefore I need even more little bottles fo my favorites -isn't that the way it works.
I love to cook , I love to bake and now I love your blog....

O.K, you are freaking hilarious! I love reading your blog. By the way, I'm totally waiting for Annie to send me a pic of the cake. I forgot to take one for my collection. Where the heck is she? She hasn't had a new post in like 2 days! You'd think she worked graveyard and then had to take care of her kid or something. Whatever!!

Maybe we could have a shared sprinkle collection... or maybe you want them all to yourself!

Oh Kim, if it where only that easy for me! I ask myself that question all the time. And even when I give the right answer that doesn't always stop me! I am an addict I tell ya!

Erin, we might have to investigate the possibility of a shared sprinkle collection!
