Holiday Decorating with Ribbon

Better Homes and Gardens has some great ideas for using ribbon to decorate for the holidays. Although the pictures are for Christmas decorations, the ideas can be used for Thanksgiving as well. Especially this one:

I love this table runner. And I love that making it doesn't require any sewing! Have material cut to the length you would like, then fold and iron the edges under. Layer material and then top it with holiday ribbon. And the material can even be used for a different project later.

Although these ribbon roses don't scream Christmas to me, I think they would be great for a baby or bridal shower. Or for the tea party I stil owe Lou La for her birthday.

This idea for wall art adds a new twist to an idea I have seen a lot. Paint blank canvases (these are 12x12) and then decorate them with ribbon. I also like he idea of covering them with material and stapling it to the back with a staple gun. Again, a nice idea for holiday decorating, but I can see using this in the girls room when we finally get around to redecorating it.

Adding ribbon accents to glass cabinets is a fun (and super easy...not to mention super thrifty) festive touch.

And this last one is strictly a Christmas idea, but it is my favorite. I am already trying to decide where in my house I can hang these ornaments.

I love this idea. . I wonder if I can keep my family from using the doorway from the dining room to the living room. I am sure they wouldn't mind walking around through the kitchen for a month or so...
