Tin Can Luminaries

Fall is in the air. Not really. The air is pretty hot still here in Arizona. But the kids are back in school. So that means summer is officially over, even though the temperatures won't fall below the 100 mark for at least another 6 weeks.

Since I live in the dessert, the internet is the only indication I have of the actual changing of the seasons. At least the decorative seasons. If I used the stores as any indication, it would be time to decorate for Christmas already!!

But today I saw this on The Savvy Event:

And when you start seeing those things popping up around the blogosphere you know that Fall is a comin'.

Time to start saving your empty tin cans!

I think I found a new love. My poor hubby :)
I saw that and started thinking about all the spray paint I am going to need to buy, and then I thought about all the different Holidays that I can use them for... they are super easy, so it's a no thought project, right? I am thinking Fall, Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years, Valentines... all year round! Sweet. Thank you!

My daughter in law told me about this, and I thought it was cool. I carefully pulled the labels off last night's cans and ran them through the dishwasher--the safest way not to get cut!--
and then my son unloaded the dishwasher and he decided I was getting batty or something, and threw them away! Seriously! I mean, wouldn't you think it would be obvious they were in there on purpose?
