101 Tees from Cathie Filian
Sterling Publishing contacted me and asked if I would like to share one of the tutorials from Cathie Filian's new book, 101 Tees, with you. Share a tutorial? Of course!
They sent a couple my way to look at and I loved this tattered chic tee idea:
This would look cute on any tee, but if you have a favorite shirt or a new shirt that mysteriously got a hole, this is a great way to rescue it! Not to mention a fun way to dress up any inexpensive tee.
After I checked out the tutorials they sent, they offered to give away a book to one of you too! I checked one out for myself and there are a ton of great ideas. And even tutorials that you can use for things other than tees, like gathered fabric roses.
The book has tips and tutorials for all types of techniques. Sewing, painting, dyeing, appliqués, embroidery, iron-ons, and more. A chapter full of ideas for each of them! There is even a chapter dedicated to tees for boys. Throw in the free templates in the back of the book and you have over 170 pages of tee shirt goodness.

I haven't "made" a t-shirt, but I have fabric-painter & cross-stitched ones in the past! It gave me so much joy & satisfaction to create these specially for the person I was making them for!! Would love to win this book, to "rock" some NEW creations for the Holidays!! Thank you for the chance!!

I have never made a tee for myself or anyone else...unless you count tie dye? I'd love to win a copy of the book, so that I could make shirts for my daughters!

Ooh, how fun! I once took a white 3/4 sleeve shirt, cut it up the center front, hemmed those edges and then added white ruffles up each side. It's a great little cardigan now and it goes with everything!

ReplyDeleteIn the age 9of upcycling, this book is perfect. I remember years ago taking two if my brother's t-shirts, cutting part of the hem off on one, and a larger part of the hem off of the other, then stitching them together. It made a very cute drop waist cover up. I was so proud!

I've had my eye on this book for awhile now! My daughter is getting into crafts and she loves "being herself" creating new things that makes her happy not what everyone else is wearing. This would be a great book for us to use together!!
