Reclaimed Wood Headboard from House Tweaking
I fell in love with this headboard that I saw from House Tweaking and figured it was time to put together a post about headboards. I found a ton of cute ones, and half of them were made from reclaimed wood. So you will have to wait for another post on cute headboards NOT made from reclaimed wood!
I love this one from HGTV because it doesn't look like the typical old boards you think of when you envision reclaimed wood.
This one from AKA Designs does have more traditional reclaimed wood look, but it is dressed up with a pennant garland.
And forget about headboard, how about entire wall! Like this one from House to Home.
I adore reclaimed lumber! I think it has so much character and adds a certain something without being in your face.

Thanks for collecting these headboards and sharing them. So cool, especially the last one (seems to be a general consensus). But, the exposed lumber makes me cringe, a bit like nails on a chalkboard, because I live in a warm country (Tunisia) and exposed lumber = wood bugs that will put holes in it within a year and pretty much destroy it (and all the other wood in your house). Still, one can always dream...

ReplyDeleteI am looking to make a reclaimed wood head board. I want to keep the reclaimed look. I am not sure if I need to sand the wood, which I am afraid will removed character or do I seal the wood with out sanding it? Does anyone have any guidance?
