Royal Wedding Watching Menu

Orange Scones from Providence Handmade

I need your help!  I am trying to plan the snacks for Friday when I have a couple of friends over to watch the Royal Wedding coverage.  I know there will be Scones.  And I am hoping that these orange scones from Providence Handmade are as good as the Panera scones they are patterned after.

And I know there will be cucumber sandwiches, even though I haven't decided if I am trying the recipe I am familiar with or a new recipe that my mother in law emailed to me.

But that is all I've got so far!!  My biggest dilemma is what to drink, since I am not a tea drinker.  Any suggestions?

  1. I am doing a nice English teatime too! Throw in some shortbread biscuits and jam and I think you are good to go.

Oh, and if you are not a tea drinker, you can always just have a pint! :D

  2. I think it would be fun to serve a Chocolate Biscuit Cake in honor of Prince William. I found a recipe here: http://blogs.sj-r.com/offtheclock/index.php/archives/4700.

As for drinks.... do you like herbal tea? Its not actually tea, but fruits and herbs... more like not so sweet Koolaid, or hot juice.. hey there ya go, how about apple cider?

  5. Those scones look delicious!
The Brits love them some cider, and you can always find that in non-alcohol versions!
