By adding a little piece of moulding to the corners (and adding some color to the back) it really does take away the cupboard look and give it more of a hutch look. Not 100% open shelving, but much better!

Open Cupboard Moulding
I love the idea of open shelving, but I know that if you took the doors off of most cupboards it wouldn't give you an open look, just an I took the door off of my cupboards look. But I love this idea that I found on Design*Dump:

I like this look too! I have so many mismatched dishes though, I don't think I could pull it off!
ReplyDeleteI like that look but it's one of those things that wouldn't be particularly functional UNLESS you had a HUGE pantry or more cabinet space than you know what to do with.
