Aunt Lolo shared this brilliant idea for using binder clips as cord catchers she found on Lifehacker:
The ironic thing is that my husband has been looking for a solution to this very problem and it was under his nose the entire time. He has a serious addiction to binder clips. And by serious I mean he isn't allowed to shop at an office supply store without supervision. We have hundreds of them. HUNDREDS! All sizes, but not all colors. Only black, silver and gold. Maybe if he had purchased the multicolor pack I wouldn't have minded so much.
I just hope his desk is thin enough for this to work!!
some of the clips are pretty fat - can do a pretty thick desk - I think it's such a fantastically cheap solution!

Kim @ Frost Me!
Okay, that's just pure genious!
ReplyDeleteWhy in the WORLD didn't I think of that?
ReplyDeleteI so just stole the idea! I had ugly black ones too, but Office Depot had some really cute ones that I resisted, and now I can go back and get them without guilt!! Fantastic idea!!
ReplyDeleteGreat idea, my cords fall off of my desk all of the time.
ReplyDeleteHehehe...I feel so famous!
ReplyDeleteThis would totally work on one of our desks...but we don't use it. *sigh* My laptop is crammed onto the kitchen counter, next the phone, radio, TV, bowl of pens, water boiler, and drying dishes. niiiice.
(PS - I found it by using Reader Play. Have you tried it yet? It's like a Google version of StumblUpon. Pretty fun for killing time! You can then star or share the items as they come past. You can find it at google.com/reader/play)
Fabulous!
ReplyDeleteKim,
ReplyDeleteWe have ever size they make, but my hubby has really thick Ikea tables in his office as desks. I will find a way to adapt this though!!
MistyLou,
ReplyDeleteInstead of buying more, do you have cute paper and some Mod Podge? That would do the trick!
I LOVE binder clips. I bought a pack that have pigs and frogs and ducks on them just the other day.
ReplyDeleteI look for excuses to use them!
Great idea... oh how I could have used this more than a few times...
ReplyDeleteI love binder clips. So many wonderful uses!!
