Felt Place Mats

Real Simple used red felt squares (you can find them for $1 or less) in place of Christmas place mats:

Festive and Frugal. And of course, Simple.

    I'm thinking that if I combined this craft with this one: http://houseofhappiness.blogspot.com/2009/12/lovely-ornament-idea.html , it would be totally amazing! (Maybe if I got started now, I'd have maybe 4 done by next Christmas...sigh)
