A New Valentine's Tradition

I know a lot of you read Our Scoop and have already seen this...but in case you don't or you haven't I had to post about it because it is a new tradition that I am adopting in my house! One that I am already in love with, even though I haven't started it yet!!

You take one of these:

leave it out on the counter with some heart shaped papers and a pen or two. Anyone that takes a piece of candy has to replace it with a love note about a family member.

It reminds me of a tradition my Hubby had in his family growing up. They all had little stockings and each person had to drop in a note telling that person something kind they were going to do for them. An act of service. Something we are going to do in our house when the kiddos are a little older.

I love any tradition that forces people to tell me how much they love me! KIDDING! But I do love opportunities for my kids to share feelings about their family members. But to get a piece of candy in exchange is pretty fun too! I personally believe the road to heaven is paved in chocolate.

Right now I am trying to figure out how many hours I am going to have to run on the treadmill after eating 3/4 of the box of candy myself...since I will be at home with it while the only two other people in the house that can write are gone all day at work/school!

  4. What a wonderful idea. It would also force those who secretly sneak everybody's favorite pieces out of the box to own up to the thefts! Love it.
