Autumn Snack Mix [Fun Fall Treat]

I had forgotten all about this fun Fall treat until one sister-in-law asked another sister-in-law for the recipe via a group text.  This recipe might be the best thing to ever come out of a group text message!

Erin, the sister-in-law responsible for introducing us to this yummy goodness calls it Autumn Corn Munch. It doesn't matter what you call it though , as long as you make it.  Immediately! You will LOVE IT! It is Crunchy Autumnal Goodness.

Autumn Snack Mix

What you need:

2 T butter
3 c Corn Chex
1/2 t salt
3 c cheese popcorn (I think regular old butter popcorn would be good too)
1 package of M&Ms (14 oz) Make sure to get the fun Halloween of Fall colored ones!!
2 packages of Corn Nuts(4 oz each)
1 package of Cracker Jack (6oz)

The recipe also calls for a package of candy corn (18 oz) and a cup of raisins. I am not a big fan of candy corn, but I could see how it would add a nice element to the mix. And I do like raisins...but I am just not feeling them in this yummy bowl of buttery yum! But to each his own!

What you do:

In a large skillet, melt butter; add Corn Chex and toss to coat. Cook on medium heat (continuously stirring) until cereal is lightly browned (about 5 minutes) Sprinkle with salt and set aside to cool.

In a large bowl, combine remaining ingredients. Add Corn Chex and toss!

Easy peasy! Even easier if you have a fabulous sister-in-law that does it for you and all you have to do is sit on the couch and eat half the bowl!

If you are making it yourself, pick up some G.H. Cretors Popcorn Chicago Mix and substitute that for the cracker jacks and cheese popcorn!  It will make the recipe even easier and mix even yummier!

Happy Munching!
