We've all watched the scene a dozen times. Someone in tattered clothes crawls up the beach, sunburned, dehydrated and about to succumb to the elements. Then they find a coconut and all is well. Until recently I chalked up this scenario to cinematic fiction -- and then I discovered that coconut water is pretty amazing stuff. For one, it contains five electrolytes, which makes it a great way to stay hydrated, whether on a deserted island or on a hot summer day. But extracting the juice from a coconut by oneself is not easy to do. In fact, I know from personal experience that coconuts can be a huge pain to open! I might have used a mallet and power-drill the last time I brought one home.
ZICO is natural and pure premium coconut water in an easy-to-open container. The container is perfect for icing down in a cooler and fits nicely in the cup-holder at the gym. With five different flavors, it's a great way to rehydrate after a workout and is a natural substitute for sugary high-calorie sports drinks. With fewer carbohydrates, eight times more potassium and no artificial ingredients, ZICO is the best way to be naturally powered this summer.
In Texas this time of year, the weather is hot and muggy and I am always looking for a way to keep the kids cool and hydrated. Besides water, ZICO is about the only natural choice available on my store shelves. We used some of the pineapple flavor to make an all-natural shaved-ice treat with our ice cream maker. We're going to pick up some of the pomberry ZICO and make some popsicles too.
Because ZICO supports rapid hydration, it's a great way to replenish the electrolytes you lose after a workout. But even if you aren't hitting the gym, staying hydrated has dozens of great health benefits. Being pregnant, I'm not hitting the gym as often as I once was, but staying hydrated helps reduce morning sickness and other fun pregnancy symptoms. And having one more healthful option makes staying hydrated easier and tastier, especially during the hot summer months.
I want you to enjoy the natural hydration that comes from ZICO pure coconut water too. Leave a comment describing what activities you're planning this summer that will leave you hot and thirsty and you'll be entered for a chance to win a $100 gift card and a case of ZICO Coconut Water! Two entries will win.
