Valentine's Day Sugar Cookies
Shelley from How Does She shows you how to decorate your valentine sugar cookies with the beautiful heart boarder:
She also has a couple of other designs that are more for an adult Valentine's Day party, but I think I will stick with the kid friendly hear borders.

Mailbox Valentine Cookie
When I saw these cute little Valentine mail boxes from Bee In Our Bonnet I figured there would be a valentine inside:
But I didn't know they would be these cute valentine letter cookies:
She even addressed them:
Such a fun valentine treat, and a really cute teacher gift!
Head over and check out all of the detail on these cookies HERE.

More Classroom Valentine's Day Party Ideas
One Charming Party has some more great ideas for a classroom Valentine's Day party. She has two games using conversation hearts that I love. The first is a race to see who can pick up the most conversation hearts with a pair of chopsticks:
and the second is who can make the highest tower of conversation hearts:
We might have to combine the two and see who can stack the most conversation hearts using chopsticks. You can check out these games a a dozen more great ideas over on her blog. And make sure you check out the super cute bubble gum ball necklace she made. It is beyond cute!

Valentine Cake Mix Cookies
Amy from Positively Splendid is another wonderful lady that I had a chance to get to know at Blissdom last week. She is beyond gorgeous, but so sweet that you have to love her anyways. I have read her blog for a while and didn't even realize that she was going to be at Blissdom, but I am so glad that we sat at the same table on the first day.
On her blog this week, she has a recipe for these super easy Valentine Cookies:
She made these with a cake mix, so there are actually only three ingredients! She then rolled them in sprinkles and decorated them with almond bark which brings the entire ingredient list up to five. Head over and check out the cookie recipe and tell Ms. Amy that I said hello!

Playroom Chalkboard, Cork Board, and Whiteboard
Crafty Sisters shared a sneak peak of these these beyond adorable message boards that they created after seeing a similar version at Pottery Barn:
I am pretty much in love with anything that is shaped like a house. And I love it even more when you add something practical to such a great shape. They are perfect and would look great in the girls room across from their doll house book shelf.
If you need them as badly as I need them then you can head over to Infarrantly Creative and see their tutorial on how to make a set of your own. Or you can head over to Pottery Barn and pay over $500 for their School House Utility Set:

Classroom Valentine Party
I have moved out of decorating the house for Valentine's Day mode and into classroom Valentine's Day mode. Here are some fun and easy ideas that are on my list for classroom decorations, crafts, and snacks.
Sweet Bee Buzzings made this heart garland by sewing together felt hearts:
I am thinking of using my Silhouette to cut out a bunch of colored hearts from paper and the stitch them together to make a paper heart version to hang around the classroom. At least in between some regular crepe paper streamers. Of course what I really want are a dozen different types of streamers reaching across the classroom like all of these at WIP Kits:
I have showed you this vintage valentine wreath before:
For their craft, I am going to bring chipboard cut into wreath shapes and let them decorate them using all of the valentines that they got from their classmates. If some of them aren't ready to use their valentines, I will have some supplies so that they can make these woven hearts from Childmade:
Now if I could just decide on the snacks. I have about a dozen I want to makes and am going to have to narrow it down. Valentine Confetti is high on the list. Do you have any snack suggestions?

Chocolate Covered Football Strawberries
I love this idea for a fun Superbowl snack:
From Glitter to Gumdrops turned chocolate covered strawberries into footballs with just a little bit of icing. I am always looking for a good excuse to eat chocolate covered strawberries and a football games is just about as good of a reason as any.
And so is a baseball game or a basketball game:

Although the others won't taste as good as the footballs. Chocolate wins over candy melts in my kitchen everyday.
Valentine Confetti
I had the great pleasure of meeting Kellie from This Blessed Nest at Blissdom this week. She is fun and cute and sweet and I had a blast hanging out with her.
This Valentine's Confetti snack she made for Valentine's day is almost as cute and sweet as she is:
But since you don't have the chance to have Kellie over for Valentine's Day, you should make this and think of her instead. Everyone you share it will will love you forever!
I made a Christmas version a couple of years ago and everyone asked me for the recipe. And it is SO EASY! Head over and and check out her tutorial, and if you can't find candy melts you can use white almond bark that you can find on just about every grocery store baking aisle.

Brene Brown
I have been in Nashville for a blogging conference (Blissdom) for the last couple of days. The Keynote Speaker was a woman by the name of Brene Brown. After listening to her speak I could not believe I had never heard her name before.
This is a very long video. A 20 minute video. I completely understand that you probably don't have 20 minbutes right now, but book mark this page and come back to it. I want you to see this.
**There is at least one place where she uses a word you might not want your 3 year old to hear, so you might want to wait for a 20 minutes without your little one around.**
Courage - to tell the story of who you are with your whole heart.

Bedroom Makeover
My partner from Crafting with the Stars if the very talented Kiki from Kiki Creates that I introduced you too last week.
I wanted to show you the AMAZING room transformation that she did for her project this week:
It used to look like this:
The transformation would have been amazing by itself. The fact that she did it in 2 days blows me away!
She sewed the duvey, made 5 pillows, made the headboard, and threw in a cute book page wreath to go with it!
And if THAT wasn't amazing enough, she did it all with items from the Thrifty Store!
I cannot wait to see her project for this week!!

Show Off at Thrifty Decor Chick
I originally titled this post Thrifty Decor Chick Show Off, which sounded like I was saying something mean about Ms. Sarah who is one of my all time favorite bloggers!
Actually, today at Blissdom one of the top 3 things on my list is to finally get to meet her in person. Actually it is one of the top 3 reasons I came to Blissdom at all. Who wouldn't fly to Nashville to see this cute lady:
And while she is here, you need to head over and check out her blog. I know you have been to Thrifty Decor Chick already, but while she is at Blissdom she is featuring new bloggers and letting them show off on her site. I think she had something like 20 posts yesterday! I was adding bloggers to my reader left and right!
You can see her Show Off posts HERE.

Jamielyn took some empty Izzy bottles and filled them up with conversation hearts:

Golden Rule Letterpress Poster
I saw this fun poster from Studio On Fire on OhDeeDoh:
You can pick up a copy of this print in her shop, but I think I might use the idea and have my daughter make a version of her own to decorate her room. It would be fun to do a couple of quotes or song titles and hang them over her bed.

Pirate Valentines
A Few of my Favorite Things is having a Valentine's Freebie Festival. Everyday she posts a new Valentine's Day goodie that you can download around the web for free. Yesterday it was these super cute pirate valentines:
You can download the girl and boy pirate at Mer Mag and add your favorite pirate phrase to the bottom. I love the heart eye patches that she sewed on too, which would be a great project for your beginning sewer!

Spiral Clock
How fun would this clock I saw on Shak In Style be in a game room:
The clock turns and the ball moves along with the time. When it hits 12:00 the ball drops through the whole and rolls back to 1. You can even pick different designs, colors, and have the ball drop through the hole at a time other than 12:00.
So in my imaginary game room I could have the ball drop through at 7:00 when it is time to stop playing and get ready for bed.
You can find out more about this super cool clock at The Spiral Clock.

Dessert Duos
I have seen a ton of 'dessert duos' popping up lately. By dessert duo I mean one dessert baked inside of another.
First it was an Oreo baked inside of a chocolate chip cookie:
And then Becky baked a Nutter Butter inside of a chocolate cookie:
And now Boo Turtle is baking a peanut butter blossom inside of a cupcake:
Which is technically a candy baked inside of a cookie baked inside of a cupcake. Now I just need one of you to bake a peanut butter blossom inside of a chocolate chip cookie inside of a cupcake and we will be all set.
And then what do you bake a cupcake inside of?

Fabric Heart Garland
How About Orange has posted some of my favorite Valentine's Day crafts this year. My new favorite is this fabric heart garland:
I saw it a couple of days ago and marked it, but didn't blog about it because I couldn't remember if I had already posted it. Sick kids and preparing for Blissdom has left me a little scatter brained. I still am not sure, but if I did you will have to excuse the cute garland making a repeat performance.

Doll House Vase of Roses
If you have a little girl and that little girl has a doll house, then Dollar Store Crafts thinks that doll house needs to be decorated for Valentine's Day:
And I couldn't agree more. She made the vase out of buttons and the roses are made of ric-rac. Some doll is a very lucky lady. Roses and a box of chocolates!

The Very Hungry Caterpillar Party
The Very Hungry Caterpillar is always a popular theme for a very little ones birthday. I probably see pictures of a Caterpillar themed party at least once a week in all of my blog hopping. I have posted about the theme before HERE, but I saw a couple of cute ideas that I wanted to share.
This cake is amazing:
If you want to serve lunch, these pizzas are too cute:
And these cookies are so cute, but I love the bag that they come in more:
You can see even more cute ideas over at Catch My Party.

Lace Votives
I saw another crafty idea that uses lace over on Bliss Bloom Blog. This time with a balloon and some fabric stiffener you can turn a piece of lace into a votive:
I think Martha used regular candles, but part of me feels like fire, fabric, and fabric stiffener might not be the best combination. I might go with an LED candle light.
You can see the tutorial over on Martha Stewart.

Michelle used the magic of Mod Podge to turn lace into this beautiful lace heart garland:
Now I am torn between the paper heart garland, the photo heart garland, and this lace heart garland. Too many choices and not enough time between Christmas and Valentine's Day. I vote we mote the holiday to the end of February to give us more time to enjoy it!

Cute Little Lamb
I have a confession. I am not a stuffed animal lover. Actually I think I may have confessed that on this blog somewhere already.
But yet I still find myself hoping that Craggy Moor with restock her Etsy store before Easter so that I can buy a couple of these cute lambs for my girls:
Their fleece comes off!! How cute is that! And they are CUTE! They sort of remind me of Roo from Winnie the Pooh.
