Glass Jars and Chalkboard Paint

Today I found the marriage of two of my favorite things. Glass jars and chalkboard paint. I found it on Tip Junkie. It comes from Janie. And it looks like this:

And the best part is that Janie had the good sense to not paint her glass jars (in case she ever wanted to use them for a different purpose. She painted a note card with chalkboard paint and then attached it with double sided tape. Brilliant!

I wish my laundry room was in my house so that I could copy this idea for storing laundry soap. But alas my detergent will stay in the box it came in, since it is out in the garage where no one will see it. If the girls were older I am sure I could find something cute to use this idea for in their room, but Toots has already broken two glass bowls in her short little life. So not old enough yet. I am tempted to use it in my kitchen for flower and sugar, but I like the way my flower and sugar storage works now.

I have that same jar (the little one) filled with colorful candy in my kitchen already. Maybe I should just label it candy! Or maybe I should label it vegetables and then maybe the kids won't eat it!

Why not do this? So what if the laundry area is in the garage - you see it don't you? If it would bring a smile to your face while doing something that isn't so much fun, why not do it?

I find that if I have things that I truly enjoy around me, I'm much more apt to use them. :)

Paula, that is a great idea. But I think I will try to find a way to use it in the house where I will see it even more!

Thanks for the idea!

I have everything set up the way I like it in the kitchen too...and I have no room to safely put a glass jar in the laundry room. Poop.
