Kid Friendly Thanksgiving Treat: Candy Corn Turkey

Another kid friendly treat for Thanksgiving:

Candy Corn Turkey

1 Milk Maid caramel square
1 Ritz cracker
1 Hershey’s Kiss
A small mixture of Royal Icing
Candy corn

Unwrap the Hershey’s Kiss and lightly dab the flat part in Royal Icing. Place the Kiss toward the bottom of the Ritz cracker. Dab the backside of the candy corn in icing and place above the Kiss on the cracker for the feathers.

You may also dab the short end of the caramel square in icing and stick it to the backside of the cracker for a stand, but these treats are just as nice flat on the plate. (Source: dltk-holiday.com)

I am not a fan of candy corn, but I may make an exception in this case.

I am not a fan either, but they are cute! And they might actually not be eaten by me, which would be good. I find enough ways to eat too many calories this time of year anyways!

Thanks for leaving a comment on my blog last week. I saw a similar idea for a turkey (made with oreos) in the Family Fun magazine, November issua.

Those are so cute. My kids love candy corn (though I can't understand why) so we'll probably make these this year. What is Milk Maid caramel, though? Are they just caramel squares?

Yep, just caramels. It is a brand. Any caramels will work. They even now sell caramel bits made for melting...but I don't like them as much as the ones you have to unwrap one by one!

Oh! On peanut butter cookies! Lindsay! You are brilliant!
